We very much regret that the society's chairman, John Broadbent, has resigned from his role with immediate effect. John has made this decision because of his recent ill-health. During John's two years of involvement with the management of the society, a substantial amount has been achieved, due in no small part to his tremendous efforts on behalf of the society, for which we are all very grateful.
John Broadbent
The trustees have decided that it is essential to reduce the number of tasks which the chairman carries out, and so will be preparing a job description which encompasses the strategic, leadership role of the chairman. The practical responsibilities for office management at Taylor House, organisation of meetings etc will be the subject of a description of another role. When these descriptions have been finalised, we will be looking for volunteers to fill these roles, so please do think about whether you could help. Meanwhile, the running of the society will continue to be carried out by the trustees and the happy and willing band of other volunteers.
