Bridleway 54 Holmesfield [map], better known as Car Road, is suffering serious damage from illegal use.

It is unfortunate that some users are taking the name of this Bridleway as an excuse to traverse it illegally using motorised vehicles. Whilst there has been some historic evidence of vehicular rights they were extinguished by the NERC Act 2006 which means any 'public' as opposed to 'private' use a criminal offence. Vehicles using this route should be reported to the police DCC & PDNPA.

The society will be keeping a close eye on the situation and pressing DCC & PDNPA to repair the damage.
