The Honorary Secretary of GLEAM (Green Lanes Environmental Action Movement) is asking for our support for an ETRO (Experimental Traffic Regulation Order) that has just come into effect for a green lane in Whitestones, Wrexham.
This green lane is in the Ceiriog Valley, not an area that PNFS covers, but the reasons that the ETRO has been enacted will be familiar to many of our members as can be seen from the photographs below. It has been severely damaged by off-road vehicles over many years. Despite repairs, it is now impassable for horse riders and very difficult to use safely by walkers, runners and cyclists. The route passes through an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) which is now a risk.
Official details of the ETRO can be read/downloaded HERE and GLEAM's own background document can be read/downloaded HERE.
If you would like to express your support for the ETRO write to:

or
email: traffic@wrexham.gov.uk
Quote reference TL/JE/LR31.05.23, and stress why you support it and want it to be made permanent.
Public responses MUST be received by 30 June 2023.
