The inaugural weekend walk was on Saturday, 7 January 2023. Attended by 11 members, it started in the unspoilt Ribble Valley village of Downham, where "Whistle Down The Wind" and "Born and Bred" were filmed. It was eight miles of beautiful countryside near Pendle Hill. The weather was dire a few minutes before the walk started, but we were lucky that it remained dry for rest of the day with some blue sky and bright sunshine. The photograph shows the group crossing one of the several footbridges.
