Norfolk Heritage Trail - Sheffield

Date: Thursday May 19 Time: 10.30 am start Meet at Discovery Centre, Sheffield Manor Lodge, S2 1UJ (SK 376 866) Finish at Sheffield Cathedral. Approx. 2pm Return with leader by supertram to Manor Lodge-if parking at Manor Lodge Travel: No.56 bus 9.56 Moor foot 10.01 Sheffield central interchange. Get off at top of Wybourn estate-Windsor Pub (Now Closed) Boundary road end/ beginning of Southend road junction-walk across road and up Southend Road to Manor Lane where the ruins start. Turn left and keep straight on for about 200 metres until reaching end of ruins and blue building Discovery centre. Approx 5 mins walk altogether from Bus stop. Parking: Car Park to Discovery Centre will be open for people to park. Leader and other car drivers will catch the bus/supertram back. We follow the linear Norfolk Heritage Trail through City Road Cemetery, Norfolk Park (café and toilet break for 30 mins) and Spring Wood in the knowledgeable company of one of its original instigators. Includes a bonanza of historical gems, including the Cholera Monument, Shrewsbury Hospital, the Old Queen’s Head, Sheffield Castle and the Cathedral. Terrain: Mostly level and on good surfaces. Led by David Templeman, Original instigator of walk, Elizabethan historian, author and Chair of the Friends of Sheffield Manor Lodge.
