Derek's funeral will be held at 3pm on Monday, 4th September at Altrincham Crematorium. Our president, David Bratt will formally represent the society at the funeral. All those wishing to pay their respects are most welcome to attend. Derek was heavily involved in the running of PNFS between 1997 and 2007 and made a great contribution to the work of the society during this time. He was Environment Secretary throughout this 11 year period. In 2002 he became Chairman at a very difficult time in the society's history. Derek held this position for 3 years before handing over to David Bratt in 2005. He then took on the role of the society's President, a post he held until 2007 when, in his own words he decided to step down because of 'advancing years and deteriorating sight and hearing'. An appreciation of Derek and his work on behalf of the society will appear in the next edition of our newsletter, Signpost, which will be published in October.
