In line with our policy on wind turbines and at the request of local inhabitants, the Society submitted a letter of objection to Warrington Borough Council regarding a proposed single turbine at Croft. It is good to report that Warrington BC have rejected the application on two counts - that of noise emission, but principally that the local benefits of such a turbine (to the farmer applicant) are substantially outweighed by the adverse effects on the local population and users of the two nearby footpaths (site shown below). Fifty eight local people objected and their co-ordinator believes our submission as a footpath organization was of considerable importance. Read a copy of our submission.
