The Society has achieved a major success in getting an obstructed path reopened near Linacre Reservoirs Country Park, Chesterfield. Three years ago we offered to fund a new footbridge over Birley Brook on condition that a barbed wire fence obstruction was removed and the vegetation was cut back so that walkers could use the path, Brampton 15.  The photograph below shows the position before the Society took action.

Brampton 15 before new footbridge Derbyshire County Council was slow to take action and it was only through the perseverance of our Area Officer, John Harker, that the path has been improved and the footbridge shown below was finally installed.  An official handover ceremony is being arranged.
