Signpost 488 was erected on 15th May at the Aiggin Stone in memory of John Needham, past president of the Pennine Way Association (PWA). It also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Pennine Way. The cost was met by the PWA, which will end later this year. We now have eight PNFS signposts on the Pennine Way, plus number 112, dating from 1949 ("Accommodation Path" through the grounds of Grindslow House), which now stands by the Moorland Centre's playground in Edale, together with an explanatory note. Signpost 489 was erected on 13th May close to the memorial bench below Big Stone at Cracken Edge. It was funded by our secretary Dave Brown and his wife Judy to celebrate their 30 years of walking in the area. Further information:
